What are associated occupations within the Unit of Analysis?
Each occupation is grouped into a Unit of Analysis (UA). Associated occupations are those that fall outside of the Unit of Analysis, but are related to one or more instructional programs in the UA by the National Crosswalk Service Center’s SOC to CIP crosswalk file. For example, Electrical (064-A02) is a large Unit of Analysis with seven primary occupations and three associated occupations. Electricians is a primary occupation, and Security and Fire Alarm Systems Installers is an associated occupation for the Electrical UA.
