What are anthromes?
Anthromes are anthropogenic biomes (human-modified biomes), that characterize the global patterns of ecosystem form and process that are produced by long-term human interaction with ecosystems. Ideally, these would serve a similar role in education and research as do biomes, essentially incorporating humans as the most powerful shapers of ecosystem form and process, rather than climate and geology (which are still very important!).
