What are an Inspectors powers?
An authorised inspector has the power to: • enter the premises at all reasonable times; • carry out investigations and examinations; • take measurements, photographs and samples; • take possession of articles or substances; • require people to give accurate information and take statements from them; • inspect and copy any relevant documents. If you are having construction or refurbishment work done, you may need to notify the Health and Safety Executive (HSE) and you may have other duties as well – find out more on the HSE website.
