What are aminoglycosides?
Aminoglycosides, often sold under the brand name Amikin, Garamycin and Nebcin, are drugs used to treat serious bacterial infections. They are frequently administered by means of injection, inhalation and direct application. They can be taken in conjunction with other medications or alone. Aminoglycosides are not used for viral infections. This medication should always be administered by a doctor. Common Side Effects The use of Aminoglycosides can lead to a variety of common side effects including mild hearing loss, mild dizziness, clumsiness, nausea, vomiting, thirst, ringing ears and irregular urination.
