Fuel is going to range from $4 to $6 a gallon, but keep in mind a jet can burn through several tons on any given flight. You’ll have to get a certificate for the aircraft, a place to store the aircraft. Then you’ll have to get a maintenance person or a contract with a company. You will have to have at least one pilot (ranging around $100,000 per year plus benefits). Each pilot has to be sent to training every year. When you fly you’ll have to pay for hotel stays for your pilots. Then you’ll have upkeep of the plane. And yes, you will need insurance. It’s going to cost you a lot. Oh, and did I mention that several airports have landing fees? Yep, you have to pay just to land. Another solution is Fractional Ownership. Companies like NetJets allow you to buy in to a plane. You get so many hours per year, and t
