What are all the different types of police officers?
Depends where you are in the world: In Connecticut there are four types of police officers: Municipal Police – Town PD’s state has no control over them. State Police – Statewide jurisdiction for all matters Environmental Conservation Officer – protects state parks and land MV Inspection Officer – works for DMV and deals with trucks and motor vehicle inspection, also does patrol. College Police – Almost every major college in US has a police department that patrols the colleges campus(es). There are also different types of federal police in CT: Groton, CT Sub Base Police – works for Department of Defense and protects the governments submarine base. FBI Police – works for the FBI and investigates federal cases Postal Police – works for US Postal service and investigates crimes committed through the mail and having to do with mail interception There are probably many more but i cant think of them now.
