What are all the different settings needed to set-up a wireless adsl modem router (PC via ethernet)?

I am having real trouble setting up my new adsl modem router. Well with my PC anyway, my PS3 and PSP can connect easily to it and the internet. I have got the router to assign each “client” (PS3/PSP) via ethernet cable and/or wireless. But the PC says “Invalid IP Address” as connection status via LAN when assigned by router (DHCP). If I assign the IP Address myself, the PC connects to the router, but I still cannot access the internet. The PC is still trying to access the internet via dial-up. So if anyone could help/tell me the correct settings, like what services (run -> services.msc) are needed and is there something that I need to do to tell the PC to connect to the internet via LAN/Ethernet it would be great. THANKS!
