What are Air Root Pruned Containerized trees and what does that mean to me?
Air Root Pruned Containerized trees are those trees grown exclusively in special containers that ensure strong non-circling root growth. In other words, as the tree grows into the container, the fine outer roots reach the edge of the container and seek out the small holes or slots in the container. Once that happens, the root is “pruned” by contact with the air. The tree continues to produce quality roots in this container until it is replanted in another larger container, or is transplanted into a landscape. Air Root Pruned Containerized trees have virtually a 100% survival rate when transplanted, and experience rapid stabilization in the ground.
