What are advantages and disadvantages of a PDA?
Advantages: it fits in your pocket and will still do word processing, spreadsheets, play mp3s. Think of it as a pocket computer. Lighter than a laptop, and can be used standing up – I write in/on mine on trains, waiting around, etc. There are no power leads to worry about. If you lose it/ crush it, etc. then the data should be on your PC/laptop to upload onto a replacement (not so with a filofax). Input can be by stylus (my palm accepts handwriting and converts to word format) or by folding keyboard (bluetooth or IR link). Memory cards are now really cheap – so you can organise that way if you need to. Useful link to satnav for car or on foot in a new city. Against. If you use it a lot then you will probably need to recharge every night. However, this is a good thing. I recharge mine via the USB port. This means I can back-up data at the same time.
