What are advance directives such as a living will or do not resuscitate order?
We recognize and respect your right to make health care decisions. In order to make such decisions, you have a right to be adequately informed about your medical condition, available treatment alternatives, and the likely risks and benefits of the alternatives. If you are unable to communicate your wishes regarding medical treatment, your doctor will try to determine what you would want if you could express yourself. Your doctor may rely on previous conversation he or she had with you regarding health care decisions. Your doctor may rely on family members or close friends who talked to you about your condition. Please note, however, that United Shockwave Therapies does not honor advance directives (Living Will or Durable Power of Attorney for Health Care).
