What are ADDM findings, recommendations, actions and rationales?
An ADDM finding is a performance issue that is affecting the total database throughput. ADDM findings have an impact (in units of DB Time) attributed to them. Each ADDM finding can be associated with one or more ADDM recommendations, which are basically suggestions to solve or alleviate the performance problem identified. ADDM recommendations have a benefit (in units of DB Time) attributed to them, which is the estimated benefit that could potentially be achieved by carrying out the suggested recommendation. Each ADDM recommendation consists of one or more ADDM actions and zero or more ADDM rationales. All the ADDM actions attached with the ADDM recommendation should be carried out in order to realize the total benefit attributed. ADDM rationales often try to explain why a particular ADDM finding or recommendation was generated or suggested.
