What are acceptable helmet standards for MSA Events?
Acceptable standards are listed in Section C(c) 87-96 (Pg 163) of the MSA Competitors Yearbook. See also Page 166 &167. Where can I buy an acceptable helmet? Helmets can be bought from specialist motor sport suppliers eg Demon Tweeks, Grand Prix Race Wear etc. Can helmets complying with the Snell K98 or Snell K2005 standards be used? The Snell K98 and K2005 can be used for CIK and MSA Karting Events ONLY. It is NOT suitable for use in any other discipline. Note Snell-FIA CMR2007 is also valid for Karting but NOT for car sport. Is the European ECE 22-05 helmet standard accepted by the MSA? No. The European ECE 22-05 Regulation is not accepted by the FIA, CIK or MSA. See section C(c) 87-96 (Pg 163) Can I use a tinted visor?
