What are a few good hiking trails for 8 year old in Great Smoky Mountain Park?

I love taking day hikes, and we live just a couple hours from Great Smoky Mountain National Park, so I’ve been there quite a few times. I even have a book that I purchased there once called: HIKING Great Smoky Mountains so surely I can find something for you. Since you said you are going to be in Gatlinburg, I will focus on trails in that area because the Park is quite large and covers a huge amount of area. I will give you the most commonly hiked trails in that area and you can look each of them up to see which ones you like best. You will probably do good to make a stop at the Sugarlands Visitor Center, which will provide you with maps, souvenirs (I got my book there), bathrooms, etc. All of these trails will have some great views of the mountains along the way. CHIMNEY TOPS – this trail crosses a creek four times. Look for birds along the way, especially low to the ground. Distance: 4 miles (up and back) Difficulty: Moderate to strenuous Elevation: Vertical rise is 1,350 feet in 2 m
