What are 3 types of lightning strikes?
The three main types of lightning are cloud to ground (CG), cloud to cloud (CC) and ball lightning. These can occur in different varieties. Cloud to ground lightning can occur as a single streak, many branch’s from a single stroke (fork lightning), parallel streaks of light (ribbon), etc. My personal favorite is a variety cloud to cloud called web lightning or anvil crawling lightning where the lightning seems to branch and crawl across the clouds. Also interesting are red sprites, blue jets and elves that occur above the clouds.
