What are 1903 and 1905 one penny coins worth?
The 1903 mintage 85,092,703 and 1905 mintage 80,717,011 Indian Head cents are worth from $1.25 in a grade of good-Liberty in head band not visible to about $20 in mint state where the coin has all sharp detail. It can still have sharp detail and be toned. Do not clean the coins for they will lose value. In lower than mint state the Indian Head cents of this period have more of a historic value than a monetary one. The Indian Head cent should actually be called the Liberty Head cent wearing an Indian headdress. If you notice the Indian has more European than Indian characteristics. Even though this is true it and the Buffalo nickel are called true American coins for they show more of what this country was. I would hold onto them for as time goes by their value will go up and it is nice to have a piece of Americana to show friends.
