What APC products are covered by the directives?
APC considers surge, power distribution, electronic mobile accessories, and cables to be “IT and Telecommunications Equipment” as defined in Category 3 of Annex 1a to the WEEE Directive. APC is declaring these products as compliant with the RoHS substances restrictions after application of appropriate exemptions. APC considers its Physical Infrastructure Management Products (Environmental Monitoring, NetBotz and related equipment) to be “Monitoring and Control Instruments” as defined in Category 9 of Annex 1a to the WEEE Directive. Under Article 2 (1) of the RoHS Directive, the RoHS substances restrictions do not apply to products that fall under Category 9. These products are therefore excluded from complying with the RoHS substances restrictions implementation date of July 1, 2006.
