What anti-Israel media?
K, I don’t think I’ve ever defended NPR in my life, but here goes: Like any other media outlet, NPR has to condense 50 years of violent history into 15-30 second stories. Without explaining, in entirety, the entire “right to return” issue, I think taking issue with the first correction is really just a bit of nitpicking. Their point was that millions of Palestinians still claim the “right to return”. This issue, I will point out, is almost NEVER brought up during any other media coverage of the situation. Considering it is THE major issue for those 3 million or so Palestinians, it hardly seems like a complete story without it’s mention. For that, I think one has to commend NPR for raising the issue. Point Two: I agree that as written it sounds as if there was a “they had it coming to them angle.”. Again, however, I think this is more attributable to the restrictions that space/time place on articles in the media these days. The writer was likely just trying to put the entire situation
