What animals body does a Sphinx have?
The Egyptian Sphinx has the body of a lion and the head of a human. In Greek mythology, the Sphinx was a demon with a form like a winged lion with a woman’s head, though sometimes she was depicted with a lion’s paws, claws and breasts of a lion, a serpent’s tail and the wings of an eagle. The Greek Sphinx was intelligent and terrorized an entrance to the city of Thebes, refusing passage – killing people – unless her riddle was solved.
