If we’re talking about the animal with the biggest eyeballs in relation to his body, then the vampire squid is your man. He’s only six inches long, but has eyeballs that are as large as a dog’s. And when it comes to birds, the ostrich has the biggest eyeballs of ’em all–they’re two inches in diameter. But the prize for the biggest eyes of all time goes to the ichthyosaur, an ancient diving marine reptile who lived between 250 million and 90 million years ago and had eyeballs that measured more than 8 1/2 inches across. Jeepers, creepers–talk about major peepers!
