There are a number of bristlecone pines in California’s Wheeler Park over 4,000 years old. The oldest one they’ve identified so far is called “Methuselah”, and the best estimate of its age is 4,862 years. (You can tell more accurately if they cut it down, but that’s kind of counter to the point.) It’s not much to look at: Bristlecones get along by growing very, very slowly, and letting old parts die off. They live in deserts, so they’d die fast if they got big. Instead, they just keep going.
