What and where is the Card Verification Value (CVV)?
CVV, or Card Verification Value, is a number that is printed either on the front (American Express) or the back (Visa, MasterCard, or Discover) of your credit or debit card. For American Express it is the four-digit number on the front of the card as shown in the example below. For Visa, MasterCard and Discover it is the three or four digit number that follows your card number as shown in the example below.
