What and where is Mourningwood Studios?
Mourningwood was the name of Third Eye Blind’s self-built recording studio in San Francisco, where the majority of recording for Out of the Vein was completed. The studio interior was extensively featured in a March 16, 2002 episode of Audio File on the (now-defunct) cable channel TechTV, and was also depicted in the “Hiding Out” DVD. Supposedly, the Mourningwood studio was sold and/or dismantled in 2005. It remains to be seen what recording locations Third Eye Blind have utilized since; though the word is that Stephan Jenkins built yet another studio.
