Currently that question is anyone’s guess. Standard pistol calibers (9mm/.40/.45) and revolver calibers (.38/.357) are sure to be considered pistol ammo, even though rifles and carbines exist in those calibers. Likewise, rifle calibers such as .223 and 7.62×39, while available in some pistols, are unlikely to be considered handgun ammunition under AB962. It remains to be seen if .22LR will be considered pistol or rifle ammunition according to the bill.
