What American League team once called Wrigley Field home?
The 1961 Los Angeles Angels, playing in LA’s Wrigley Field (home of the original Home Run Derby TV show, and now gone). The Cubs had held the territorial rights to Los Angeles and had its top minor league team there, playing in this “Wrigley West” replica. In 1962, Dodger Stadium opened and the Angels moved in, coyly referring to it as “Chavez Ravine” until finally moving to Anaheim a few seasons later.
