What alternative snack food can I eat?
Cheese & crackers is very unhealthy. I have recently been put on a low-cholesterol diet and there isn’t much I can have for snacks except for raw carrots (which I loathe). Have found the best thing is that I am allowed to snack on is a handful of nuts (which I love) and raisins. Have also been told to grate some cheese and put into a bag in the fridge, & allow myself a tablespoonful only as a snack (occasionally) – if you grate it, it goes further…. I’ve found that if you make a toasted sandwich of a slice of ham & a very little grated cheese, the flavour of the cheese seems to be enhanced (presuming you have a sandwich toaster or one of those fat-free grilling things?) Otherwise, I’m afraid the answer will be fruit…..
