What all equipment and items is needed to make a movie?
It depends on the kind of movie you intend to make, where it will be shot, and how you plan on exhibiting it. Also, the person responsible for shooting the film (Director of Photography) needs to plan it out and decide what kind of shots he/she wants. For example, if the camera is expected to move, then maybe you need tracks to place the camera on. Essentially you need the following: – a good story – casting call for professional actors – getting family and friends to act rarely works – an idea of how each scene should be shot – waiting around to light and block a scnene sucks up time and takes the energy out of the film making process – this is usually done in storyboarding when the director and DP can agree on the camera angle and lighting – secure locations – see if you need a permit to shoot someplace – having to shoot guerilla style is exciting but makes the resulting product a bit rushed – get someone who knows how to do sound and has their own equipment – using the audio track p
