What age group benefits most from the basic skills approach?

0

Unfortunately, Basic Skills are usually deficient at all age levels, from pre-K to adult education. Education is a pyramid with H.O.T.S. at the pinnacle and basic skills as the foundation. Without a broad and solid foundation no Higher Order Thinking Skills will be possible. You cannot build a pyramid from the top down. When we try to impose an advanced curriculum over a lack of basic skills, failure is the only result we can expect. At any age level we must return to basic skills before we can succeed.
