What advice does the mediator provide?
The mediator does not provide any advice. The mediator structures the conversation between the participants. The mediator controls the structure of the conversation and the participants control the content of the conversation. For complex situations such as child custody and divorce, participants are encouraged to talk with advisors which could be their attorney, accountant, counselor, therapist, clergy, family, or friends so that they will be comfortable with their decisions.
