What advantages does the ThermoShipper™ Box offer compared to using dry ice?
• Dry ice exposes products to temperatures of -50 C to -60 C, which can have an adverse effect on product quality. ThermoShipper™ refrigerants are designed to match the requirements of the product that is shipped. As an example, ice cream requires temperatures of -15o C to -18o C to remain frozen during transit. Dry ice, which maintains temperatures of -50o C, can affect the quality of a product like ice cream, actually changing the taste. The ThermoShipper™ box will maintain temperatures very close to the temperature required for freezing ice cream, -20o C. These temperatures will not affect the quality or taste of the ice cream. • ThermoShipper™ shipments do not require declaration as a hazardous commodity or use any special UN labels. • A ThermoShipper™ box may lower the overall weight of a shipment since shippers are often forced to “over pack” international dry ice shipments to ensure that temperatures are maintained for longer transits.
