What advantages does Surrogacy have over Adoption?
Many couples want a child that is “theirs.” Surrogacy is often the only way for a couple to have a child that has a genetic link to one or both of the Intended Parents. Surrogacy also allows the Intended Parents to become emotionally invested in the pregnancy without the risk that the birth mother will change her mind once the baby is born. In the case of adoption, the numbers may be against the Intended Parents. There can be as many as seventy (70) couples vying to adopt a single newborn. Adoption, in general, can be a very emotionally risky process; Surrogacy gives the Intended Parents increased peace of mind as well as increased legal standing.
