A. The piezo technology allows for much faster discharge of ink. TIJ requires more time since it has to heat a drop to the boiling point Piezo heads have less buildup and last much longer, reducing maintenance and operator intervention. TIJ heads become clogged due to buildup and corrosion induced by the heat cycling. Piezoelectric inks dry much quicker than TIJ inks. Piezo inks can be made with higher concentrates of non-aqueous suspensions and therefore dry almost instantaneously, thereby increasing productivity.
