What advantages does Design and Build offer?
Design and Build can be a cost effective alternative to the traditional design, bid and construct projects. This approach requires a greater participation by the owner and results in a system that can be better suited to the owner’s needs. Other advantages include reduced design costs. The initial design requires only functional specifications. Specific product selection, installation details and detailed requirement specifications are not required in the Request for Proposal or Bid (RFP/B). Design and build does require a special effort.
