A fanged bolt, when used in conjunction with a nylon-inserted lock nut and flat washer, provides the best possible combination for the installation of elevator buckets. During installation, the fanged bolt provides a positive grip on the belt preventing the head from turning. This allows the use of a Nylock nut, which will not vibrate loose while the elevator is running. It also simplifies removal of the buckets when needed.
