Newt’s Cape supports proxy servers (e.g., for corporate firewalls), user and proxy authentication (basic name and password), and cookies. It does not support SSL (secure socket layer) for encrypted commerce. Newt’s Cape is primarily a HTTP/1.0 client (though it supports a few 1.1 features).
