What additional costs are involved in traveling to tournaments?
The players are on there one to get to the tournament. Therefore either they drive or the parents must drive them. Therefore gas is an obvious cost. Also, the girls are on their own for food at the tournaments. Most of the time the parents bring healthy food for the players to eat throughout the day. If the tournament is a multi-day event then the players are responsible for paying for their hotel arrangements- however usually the club director or team parent will make arrangements so that everyone can stay at the same hotel.
