Goal- Patient will receive optimal nutritional intake as long as possible. (Any patient with intestinal obstruction is going to have nutritional problems & decreased food intake, but you need to find the cause of the obstruction which could be from many diseases from adhesion’s to cancerous growth.). You also can use Alteration in Bowel Function. Goal- Patient, PCP,HHA, Fam will report any unusual S&S to RN. Approach- Implement measures to control diarrhea if needed. Also Alteration in Coping Mechanism Related to Loss of Control over his life (Coping really can be used for most patients undergoing medical problems.) Goal-Patient will cope at maximal potential/Patient will express/verbalize feelings. If he complains of abdominal pains Alteration in Comfort/ Pain From Advancing Disease Process Goal- Patient will achieve
