What activities are outside speech-language pathology assistants scope of responsibilities?
The speech-language pathology assistant may NOT: • Perform diagnostic evaluations or interpret the results of diagnostic evaluations. • Participate in parent conferences, case conferences, or interdisciplinary team meetings without the presence of the supervising Speech-Language Pathologist, or other licensed Speech Language Pathologist designated by the supervising Speech-Language Pathologist. • Provide client or family counseling. • Select clients for services, discharge a client from services nor make referral recommendations • Disclose clinical or confidential information either orally or in writing to anyone other than the supervising speech-language pathologist.
