Section 242(d) – If the air at a working face in a mine, when tested at a point not less than twelve inches from the roof, face, and rib, contains explosive gas, as detected by an approved flame safety lamp, changes or adjustments shall be made at once in the ventilation in such mine so that such air shall not contain a detectable quantity of explosive gas.
