What action did Spartacus take against Rome?

0

Spartacus was Thracian slave trained as a gladiator who led a slave revolt against the Romans. At first, he wanted to lead his army of slaves north & settle them beyond the frontier of Roman occupied lands but many of the “germanic” slaves didn’t want to leave Roman territory so they all went back & forth in Italy raiding town after town until they were defeated by the legions of Crassus. Five thousand of Spartacus’ men escaped & were defeated by Pompey who took full credit for subduing the slave revolt. Crassus didn’t argue because he saw the potential use of allying himself with Pompey. The slaves who survived were all crucified along the Appian road as an example to all other slaves who even thought of rebellion.
