What acoustical function do TweeQers accomplish?
A. When a stringed instrument has a “wolf-tone” or a fluctuating and uncontrollable tone, one of the remedies is to glue a piece of wood to the inside of the top plate of the instrument to eliminate these extraneous or sympathetic vibration that interferes with the natural vibration of the string. The TweeQers function in a similar capacity. When tubing is bent, the outside of the tube is stretched and thus becomes thinner. When vibrational nodes happen to occur on the bent tubing, the vibration is less efficient when compared to straight tubing which is thicker. When TweeQers are attached, they add ‘inertial mass’ to the area and help the vibrations to be more efficient.
