What access rights/account privileges should I request when requesting an NDAR Portal account?
The privileges requested in the Account Privileges section depend on the role of the user. A Data Manager should request an NDAR Portal Account and GUID Client. A GUID Client will be necessary if you will be involved in the creation of GUIDs. Query Access should also be requested if the Data Manager will be involved in reviewing data submitted as part of the QA/QC process. A Data Manager would not typically require Collection Creation access as NDAR Collections should be created by the Principal Investigator. A Principal Investigator should request an NDAR Account, Collection Creation and Query Access. The Collection Creation capability should be requested by a Principal Investigator as he/she should create the NDAR Collection to which data will be submitted. Query Access will be necessary as the Principal Investigator is ultimately responsible for reviewing the data prior to authorizing the release of data to shared status.
