Victoria Climbié was an eight-year-old girl from the Ivory Coast who died in February 2000 following months of neglect, physical abuse and alleged sexual abuse at the hands of her great aunt who brought her to England. Her great aunt, and her partner, were subsequently found guilty of cruelty and murder in January 2001.
