What about Antawn Jamison, Kevin Martin, Corey Maggette, or Ray Allen?
Celtics’ GM Danny Ainge stated recently that he “doesn’t want to lose” Ray Allen, so it seems that the 35-year-old guard will not be dealt before Thursday afternoon’s deadline. Yesterday, rumors were floating about that Cleveland was in talks with Washington about Jamison and Golden State about Maggette. While the Cavs almost surely would prefer the services of either Stoudemire or Jamison, it’s wise of GM Danny Ferry to explore other possibilities, like Maggette, should nothing else work out. Maggette is a proven NBA scorer, and is one of the most physical swingmen in the league, often using his strength to get inside and draw fouls. This season, the 30-year-old Maggette is averaging about 21 points and six rebounds per game for the woeful Warriors. Jamison, on the other hand, would be an absolutely perfect fit for the Cavaliers. He fills up a stat sheet (averaging 20 points and nine rebounds), and can score from anywhere on the floor. His long-range shooting ability would help to spr
