To get in the top Uni’s like Manchester, Cambridge, Oxford, you need: A level in Maths Maybe in science (if you want to take computer science, and programming) And a computer course. If you want to take it up in any university, (and even some of the best) a BTEC National Diploma can be an easy preferred option in a normal college. You need an average of DMM to get into University. DMM can be translated into UCAS points the same way A Levels are. I am doing a BTEC National Diploma in IT Practitioners (Software Development) and at the moment I am studying the programming language VB.NET. I can get into one of the best Uni’s in the NW in my area with this diploma on a computer programming course. They teach C++ and Java. If you take up a BTEC and Universities want A-Level Maths. You need to take this up seperatly, or do an engineering maths course ontop of your BTEC as a Key Skills 2 in Maths do not cover the requirements to get in. University courses don’t say computer programming course
