The Background Render Queue can handle the following formats (in addition to After Effects render items): Maxon Cinema 4D 9.6, 10.0, 10.5 Autodesk 3D Studio Max 9 Autodesk Maya 8.5, 2008 Softimage XSI 6.0.1, 6.5 NewTek Lightwave 9.2 (9.3 Universal binary for Macintosh) Apple Shake 4.1 The render items are sent to the application responsible for rendering them. You will need to have the appropriate software installed on your machine to use this functionality (the Render Queue tool isn’t able to render them by itself).
