Now that WGUC and Xavier University have signed an asset purchase agreement for the sale of WVXU and its affiliated X-Star Network stations to Cincinnati Classical Public Radio, Inc., the process of transferring ownership of the WVXU and X-Star Network broadcast licenses begins. Xavier University has submitted an application to the Federal Communications Commission for the transfer of these licenses. While we hope this process goes quickly, approval could take 90 days or longer. While we await FCC approval of the license transfer, we plan to contact as many WVXU listeners and members as possible to learn more about their programming preferences. Also during that time, we will explore the wide variety of high quality public radio programs available to stations. We want to take the time to thoroughly evaluate our options and find the right mix of local and national programming to serve the Greater Cincinnati audience. Pending FCC approval, WGUC and Cincinnati Classical Public Radio Inc.
