I knew that the steroids problem was very widespread, and I suspected the list of players involved would be long. Jose Canseco says it should be even longer, and I wouldn’t be surprised. I also had questions about Adrian Beltre, who is not on the list. He was a dazzling player to watch in 2004 when he hit 48 home runs for the Dodgers. The next year he was traded to the Seattle Mariners, and his home run production was more than halved. A likely answer seems to be that he got off steroids.
