Were you actually living at U.S. Olympic Training Center in Chula Vista (near San Diego) for awhile?
AS: No, I trained at the Olympic Training Center, but I actually have never lived on site. Because I’m married and have a dog, that wouldn’t be within the rules there. But I train there three or four days a week. I just live near downtown San Diego. At the training center, I don’t have any proper training partners. There really aren’t any other middle distance women. It’s kind of been fun because Team Running USA has been at the training center for a little over a month now. It’s kind of cool, because I see people who are running more than 100 meters at a time on the track, and we cheer for each other. And also, a former UCLA runner named Jon Rankin is also at the training center, and now he’s training under (Coach) Joaquim Cruz also. I call him my teammate, but we don’t really do much together. Is Joaquim on site with you very often? AS: Oh yeah, whenever I’m on site, he’s there. He’s on staff as a Paralympics coach. There are a number of Paralympic athletes at the training center who
