Were there any survivors in the plane crash over the neptune river?
One person was killed when a small plane crashed in Monmouth County’s Shark River and was buried in the mud below, authorities said today. As police combed the shallow water for debris and the fuselage remained embedded this evening, the Federal Aviation Administration identified the plane as a home-built RV-7 aircraft registered to a Point Pleasant Beach man. The unidentified pilot, the only person on board, was killed when the plane crashed in the river in Neptune Township on Saturday night, FAA spokeswoman Arlene Salac said. Authorities have not positively identified the victim because they have not yet found the remains, said Sgt. Stephen Jones, a spokesman for the State Police. The plane was registered to Richard Jahns of Point Pleasant Beach, Salac said. Jahns was unaccounted for today, Jones said.
