Were there any reported heatwaves in the medieval period?

What a subject. As soon as I started to try and find some info, I was flooded with reports of this week’s heatwave, which is killing Europeans by the hundreds, and maybe the thousands. Many of the articles headline something about a medieval heatwave, but once you click on the headline, there’s nada, nothing, no info about medieval heatwaves! There certainly were heatwaves in medieval times, as every several years, a high pressure system (dome, anti-cyclone) sets up in Central Europe and opposes the relative cold fronts that cause rain, and cooler temps all across Europe, like the “Bermuda High” does for the Eastern US. I suspect that you are looking for specific years and specific effects of these heatwaves, as in the Black Death of 1348, but I could find no such info.
